Rightmove's monthly House Price Index shows prices rising (albeit slightly) for the first time in 6 months:
🔸 Average new seller asking prices rise by +0.9% (+£3,091) this month to £362,839 as annual price change moves up tentatively
🔸East Midlands property marketed on average at £279,481, slightly up from last month with an average time to find buyer at 86 days
🔸 Agreed sales in the first 6 weeks of 2024 are +16% higher than over the same period last year, indicating that 2024 offers the right conditions to move
🔸 7% more new listings coming to market than last year, with a +7% upturn in the number of buyers enquiring
🔸 Market summary = two speeds where accurate pricing = snapped up whereas over-pricing = left on the shelf!
🔸 On average, it’s taking more than 2 weeks longer to find a buyer than at this time last year
🔸 So, what could happen next? Honest answer: remains to be seen with the budget fast-approaching (6th March) followed by a General Election (most likely in the winter).
